President of Operations
Originally from Randleman, North Carolina, Scott Hunsucker holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Business with a minor in Business Finance, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA), both from Wingate University. With a career spanning 30 years at Wingate University, Scott served in various leadership roles, including positions in the President’s Office, Business Office, Student Affairs, and fundraising. For 12 years, he was Vice President of Operations, overseeing facility operations, capital construction, campus master planning, property management, Campus Safety, and Police, and serving as Incident Commander for the Crisis Management Team. As a member of the President’s Cabinet and Senior Management team for 15 years, Scott played a pivotal role in securing $15 million in major fundraising gifts and managing over 1 million square feet of new construction, significantly contributing to the university’s growth and development.
Scott is deeply committed to community involvement and service. He serves on several boards, including the Board of Directors at Rolling Hills Country Club, where he is the 2024-25 President. He is an active member of Benton Heights Presbyterian Church in Monroe, where he has previously served on the Church Session. Scott has volunteered as a Bible study leader for Bridge to Recovery, supporting recovering addicts, and serves monthly dinners for Ground 40, another recovery program. Additionally, he is involved with numerous local charities, demonstrating his passion for helping others. Scott is married to Shannon Hunsucker, and they have one son, Will Hunsucker. In his spare time, Scott enjoys playing golf, cycling, hunting, and restoring classic cars, blending his love for the outdoors with his passion for craftsmanship.
