From ages 5 to 14, children have fun learning to code while building their own video games. As they advance through the 9-step program from white belt to black belt, students gain the skills they’ll need for the jobs of the future including coding, robotics and problem solving. Each game teaches new concepts and languages including Java Script, LUA and C#. While it is self-paced, the programs are not self-taught. The typical teacher to student ratio per class is 1:4.
Owner of the Sun Valley Commons location, Kiran Reddy, has been in technology most of her career and loves working with children. She learned about the Code Ninjas franchise when researching an opportunity to bring together these two passions. While she found many opportunities online, few were dedicated to coding. Having a son of her own who loves video games, Kiran knew the game curriculum would be a hit.
One of the reasons parents love Code Ninjas is because of the flexibility. Members can come in any 2 days of the week at any time that works for their schedule. Code Ninjas also offers camps, after-school programs, birthday parties and more.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and mandates, Code Ninjas is requiring students to wear masks and has limited capacity from 25 to 11. Each child gets their own table, has their temperature checked before each class and the studio is sanitized throughout the day.
